Out with matte finishes and in with the glossy and glazed to reflect light and brighten perhaps your most creative space in the house.
From the jewel tone tiles below to a more subtle glazed white tile, designers are looking to France and Morocco for sourcing the best in glazed tiles. Try Zelliges, glazed clay tiles with irregular surfaces that are handcrafted in Morocco.
At Structure Home, we love a flowing and open home. And this includes the kitchen, creating open-plan rooms that blend into one another.
Recently, there’s been a trend to move away from the open plan to create a rooms that are separate but still allow a flowing feel. This is easily captured with the glass partition.
Split spaces with glass partitions while still allowing the light in. These are perfect for the kitchen, where we often have an array of smells, sights and sounds that may be better ‘closed off’ from the rooms where the entertaining is happening.
If you want to try this in your already open-plan kitchen but space or design constraints don’t allow for a full wall, try instead a smaller glass partition panel. It will add architectural interest and help separate the areas without fully closing them off. And it makes for a great backdrop to a statement piece of furniture!
Traditional cabinets and glass-front cabinetry move aside for these artistic (and rather glamorous) mesh cabinet fronts. Take this burnished wire mesh cupboard door from Davonport. Teamed with diamond-cut brass handles, it is both sophisticated and industrial.
How beautiful would these look in our Traditional Glamor home?
Faucets, sinks and even drawer pulls are all now available in a wide range of finishes and colors. We’ve always loved a good metallic accent in our Structure Homes – it appears we’ve been on trend before it was trendy!
